Sony Xperia S: Just Another Android

Posted on 12 September 2012 by admin

As mobile manufacturers all over are trying to implement new design and innovations, most of them have one thing in common; Android Operating Software. Market leaders and smart-phone giants like Samsung, HTC, and Nokia adopted the Android and have stuck to it ever since despite the Android spyware problems that come with it. Nonetheless, Sony Ericsson did not stay behind either and soon invested in bringing Android’s latest technology to their smart-phones. Sony Ericsson was considered a failing brand in terms of cell phones but after launching the Xperia range, Sony Ericsson is again back in the game.

Sony Ericsson’s Xperia S implemented the Android’s updated software as well as a faster core-processor. Sony Ericsson combined all the good things the technology had to offer and called it Xperia S. This smart-phone came with Android’s recent updated software 2.3.4 as well as a 1.4GHz core-processor is what makes Xperia S perform faster and proficiently.

In terms of design, Sony Xperia S is very pleasing to the eye. The 4.2inch Bravia Engine Reality Display, that’s LED-backlit LCD, shows Sony’s distinct competency in visualization and the touch-screen is extremely responsive. The screen is scratch resistant which makes it all the more appealing and strong and considering the smart-phone weights 117grams, it’s not quite heavy as compared to the Iphone 4S  ( 140g). Sony Ericsson Xperia S comes in a range of different colors; pure white, midnight blue, misty silver, gloss black and sakura pink. These color options make the phone a perfect choice from a young teenager to a highly-sophisticated businessman. In terms of length and width, the phone might be a little difficult to hold as its 125 x 63 x 8.7 mm but altogether the phone is visually appealing.

In terms of software and internal processes, Sony Ericsson has left no stone unturned. Xperia S has an internal memory of 1GB with a 512 RAM and an expandable memory through a MicroSD option which stretches the phone’s internal memory up to 32 GB.

Sony Ericsson has used all available network connectivity features in Xperia S from EDGE, 3G and Bluetooth to WLAN and USB port connection; the phone is a hub for sharing and connecting. Android’s Gingerbread software has been used as the basic operating system. Apart from this the chipset of Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon and the CPU is 1,4GHz Scorpion with the GPU Adreno 205. When summarizing these technological details into one single line we can say that Xperia S is extremely fast, faster than all other Sony Ericsson mobile phones and its speed and efficiency will rank it high in terms of its other possible competitors.

Drifting from internal specifications Sony Ericsson Xperia S has an 8 mega pixel camera with 3264x 2448 pixels and autofocus with LED flash. The result of these pictures is magnificent. Sony Ericsson is known for using good camera’s in cell phones (the Sony Ericsson Cybershot was quite clear).

Sony Ericsson Xperia S comes with a complete range of entertainment. Expandable storage and Android’s app store make the phone an entertainment. The freedom to personalize your Xperia S with widgets, shortcuts and personalized live and HD wallpapers make the Xperia S just more fun to use considering the screen is huge and glorious.

Xperia S comes with inbuilt Google apps such as Gmail, Navigation and Google Search. Youtube, Twitter and FaceBook applications have already been pre-installed which turn your Xperia into a social networking portal keeping communication with friends going on all the time.

Sony Ericsson’s Xperia S doesn’t even lag behind in terms of battery. The stand-by time if up to 460 hours on 2G networks and 460 hours on 3G. Altogether Sony Ericsson’s Xperia S smart-phone is there to stay in the market and attract users trying to get both design and style. However, it’s too bad that it didn’t come with any buffed security measures or ways to keep cell phone tracker away. That would have crowned it King Phone for sure.
